Closed Circuit TV System

Overview

Closed-circuit television (CCTV), also known as video surveillance, is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors. For security and privacy reasons, the CCTV signal is not openly transmitted, though it may employ point to point (P2P), point to multipoint (P2MP), or mesh wired or wireless links. Almost all video cameras fit this definition, the term is most often applied to those used for surveillance in areas that may need monitoring such as airports, banks, stores, and other areas where security is needed.

A CCTV system can be used for following purposes, but it is not only limited to these:

  • Crime Prevention
  • Law Enforcement mobile/body worn
  • Industrial Processes
  • Traffic Monitoring
  • People flow in busy environments
  • Vehicle or People Safety
  • Sport Events
  • Monitoring Assets
  • Home Security
  • Event Monitoring

A CCTV System can be either centralized (requiring a central Video Recorder to handle the recording, video and alarm management) or decentralized (no VR needed, as camera can record to any local or remote storage media), and analogue and Network Based (IP).

Our Expertise

Acrux Technologies has the ability to provide designing, deployment, operations and maintenance solution of CCTV system for both Analogue and IP based implementations. Technical teams of Acrux are qualified and trained to offer reliable and efficient support to following components of CCTV solution:

  • Planning, Designing, Installation, Deployment as per individual user’s requirement

  • Decentralized or Centralized configuration
  • Deployment and upgrading of Infrastructure
  • Configuration of User-Level access to restrict unnecessary access to devices
  • Seamless Integration with current infrastructure for easy maintenance
  • Operations and Maintenance (O&M)

Main Components of CCTV

Camera

A CCTV Camera can be:

  • Fixed Analogue Camera
  • Fixed IP Camera
  • Analogue Speed Dome
  • IP PTZ Camera
  • Thermal Camera

Lens

Lens of CCTV is very important as it provides the Camera with the field of view necessary to concentrate on the required scene. According to the user’s requirement the lens can be adjusted to provide optimal efficiency. The lens can be simple or IR treated for better viewing in dark places.

Storage

Surveillance Systems are designed to provide 24/7 security of self-storage facilities. There are scenarios where there is nobody to watch the facility 24 hours a day, so having a good and reliable storage system is crucial for security. The storage of the CCTV system could be centralized, decentralized or even off-the-site if the situation so requires.

VMS

A video management system, is a component of a security camera system that in general:

  • Collects video from cameras
  • Records / stores that video to a storage device
  • Provides an interface to both view the live video, and access recorded video
  • In addition, the VMS can also provide:
  • Intelligent Video Analytics
  • Multi-Streaming
  • SMS or email alerts to admin for alarms
