Setting up of Project Management Office

Acrux Technologies provided Project Management services to GTS-JV – a consortium of Guarantee Engineers, Thales Italia and Selex SE Italy.

Since Primavera is the industry leader for managing all sorts of complex and largescale projects, it is therefore, a preferred choice for the vendors and contractors managing the mega projects. Our project team consisting of well-trained and seasoned Primavera experts assisted GTS-JV in the setting up of Project Management Office to achieve the following goals:

  • Established channels to reflect real time site status to the top tier management, system design team, engineering team, accounts team etc. to assist them in carrying out of their day-to-day activities
  • Our planning team under the PMO, maintained a real time Primavera P6 schedule, which initially started with a baseline covering all major project requirements. The baseline was then expanded to a larger schedule consisting of 140 pages, over 6000 activities, over 750 WBS items and over 25000 activity relationships, to show the micro level activities and monitor progress
  • The Primavera P6 schedule covered the complete project cycle showing all project phases, including:
    • Management Milestones
    • System Engineering Design
    • Client FAT & Training
    • Procurement & Production
    • Shipment & Logistics
    • System Delivery
    • Installation
    • T&C
    • SIT and SAT
  • During the project lifecycle, our document control section under the PMO maintained the clear flow of engineering documents, RFIs, project correspondences for the client, multi-national project teams and for all the other stakeholders. The documents sharing was managed using Google and Custom Cloud.
  • As most of the mega projects faces delays and disruptions especially due to external factors. To mitigate this risk, our planning department under the PMO maintained clear reasons of the delays occurring due to external factors e.g. due to other vendors. Our planning team generated almost six extension of time (EoT) claims at different time intervals to keep the project execution smooth and mitigate any risk of facing penalty due to over delay in the project.
  • Our reporting team under the PMO managed all type of monthly, weekly, daily progress reports. This involved gathering of performance status from all the teams, its compilation and submission to the client.
  • The scope also included the project management of design, procurement, FAT, installation, training, testing and commissioning of the following systems:
    • WLAN System
    • Flight Information and Display System – FIDS
    • Public Address System – PAS
    • Master Electronic Clock System – MECS
    • Baggage Handling System – BHS
    • Access Control System – ACS
    • Security Management Information System – SMIS
    • Security Cameras System – CCTV
    • Cable Support System – CSS
    • UPS System – UPS
    • Two-way Wireless Radio System – RADIO
